Leaving Trailer at Home Depot
Переглядів 372 роки тому
Its October 4, 2020. I am delivering at the home depot distribution center. I was asked to leave the trailer for a few days. So I needed to record the trailers condition. Just another day in the trucking world.

So as i stated my way back to work. This happened. Hopefully it isn't to bad. $40k later... engine rebuild was needed
"as close as you can" no bro, trailer swing is real, allow for that and you're good.
VGracias en k lugar estan esas propiedades o terrenos
Thank you
i pull a flat bed maxi 53 its a bitch to back...
Great video thanks
When you say pull forward to straighten it, do you straighten out your wheels, then pull forward?
My trainer insists that i be around 25 to 30 feet away from the space and pull up about a hundred feet and the space is only 70 feet wide. i cannot alley dock to save my life right now and i only have a week to do this since im upgrade from B to A. its the only thing i cannot do
its really good video
very good thank you
Thank you 🙏 for sharing and I’am getting my CDL A permit and I just scribed
Thank you 🙏 for sharing
Can you please explain how to use Jake breaks when you decent from high places thank you.
Very excited excellent explanation
The sound of your truck engine is little bit noisy
So while he's straightening up the cab it doesnt change the angle of the trailerwhile its in the hole?
It will not if you maneuver small increments at a time. Move up 2-3 feet forward, then move 2-3 feet in reverse. Do not move forward 5,6 feet. That will definitely change angle on the trailer. Small short movements while straightening the cab

That was very helpful, thanks.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Lol, these guys almost hit me 2 times..
As a new driver just about to get my CDL I find it extremely perplexing how drivers manage to get a 53 footer into such tight spots. I look forward to gaining the skills one day hopefully. I really hope I find some mentorship through willing & experienced truckers to take me under their wing and give me the guidance. 🙏 hopefully I will
Good stuff ..but I watch all your videos & you changed your pull ups now instead of turning to the right to straighten your jack ..you now say pull up straight then get back under the trailer ….appreciate the knowledge
My favorite alley dock video of all time & I watched a lot of them 👍🏾
That was a concept I couldn't wrap my head around. This explanation was terrific. Thank you so much. ❤ 💯 👍
Good tips thanks
Grrrr
My truck does that with heavy dew or condensation. But not all the time. I've sealed everything with silicone. 🤷♀️ 2017 WS
SHORT STORY-When I first started, I spent 45 minutes trying to back into a dock, stressed, sweating, crying, the whole deal...A driver with a stretched out Pete, pulled up and backed in as smooth as butter...I watched him closely...I learned a valuable lesson that day, he went SLOW!!! The slower you go, the easier it is. 20 years later, I have never forgot! This video is a PERFECT tutorial!!
I hate backing 😢
@JeraHunt How long have you been trucking? I may be able to help you out with that.
A year
@@JeraHunt Are you in a van or flatbed?
Remember that the farther your tandems are back the less turning radius you have. So when you have to slide your tandems all the way back at the shipper, the turning radius is much larger. The trailer is going to react differently in every position. I see a lot of newer drivers over steering because they don't understand this. Remember that the slower you go, the better. When you have people waiting for you, they can just wait. We all started somewhere. I was fortunate enough to have a job backing in boats in as a kid. If you have any specific questions. Let me know. Good Luck and be safe trucker. 🙏
Thank you! Very helpful. I appreciate your video.
is that good or bad
Candice dude next to me couldn't back.30 min then gave up
Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like both drivers came in close correctly, but the difference was that the 1st driver held his initial hard turn to the right too long, which limited his space, and led to him being too close to the trucks on his blindslide?
This is East Rochester not Beaver
That finger confuse me
Both drivers ended up doing a faulty setup… this situation is not suitable for 45 degree due to limited space to pull forward , it has to be 90 degree ally dock back up which requires a bit of different setup…. You should be 12 feet away from face of the hole and your tandems should be pass driven 12 feet ahead of the hole … then steer hard right to make a jack knife to go into hole on the left …. does it make sense?

7 years late but this video is the best explanation I’ve found. Thank you for helping newbies like me better understand the technique. My First day was today and I spent 7 hours alone attempting alley backing at the terminal with no guidance, teaching myself. This will help me there tomorrow 😅
love this video real live examples !!!
Perfect ❤
Thats atleast 26 plus years of experience right there. A dedicated driver
I'm starting my truck driving school this coming Tuesday, may God grant me fath to get my CDL.gid bless everyone!
If you can parallel park you can alley dock
Good idea ❤❤❤❤
I keep failing my alley dock we practice on rocks but testing site is concrete so wld tht mk a difference because at school I can do it over and over again but at the testing place I can’t ! Ughh
Good video
Got my CDL A in Massachusetts this morning...very tough state ;)....thanks for the videos !!! those were a huge help!
The key rule is these trucks are all ridiculous in size. Too damn big.
Great video👍 i’m glad my trainer show me that when i did my two weeks training just create space it is more easy
Nice boss
This is an excellent video
I almost quit mid alley dock but I was 4 states away from home lol
